About Us
Golden Retrievers are truly amazing dogs! They are playful, devoted, loving, gentle, athletic, and sporty. Our "Golden Gems" are part of our family, and we fully enjoy their necessary cuddling, playing, exercising, and training. As a family run breeder in NC, we are dedicated to raising our "Little Gems" with lots of love, socialization, and sensory enrichment to best prepare them for their future families.
Growing up, my family had all kinds of pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, bunnies, and fish. My favorite was the Golden Retriever we got when I was a young teen. Honey was the perfect family pet! She was so lovely that I got my own Golden after I graduated from college and moved out. Having my very own Golden was a dream come true. KC (My Kissing Canine) was such a sweet girl and my constant companion. When I met my husband, KC even joined us on our first date (and most of our other dates). She was amazing with our children when they started arriving, serving as a patient and loving friend throughout their younger years. Fast forward through children growing up and other pets joining the family.
A few years ago, I became friends with a local breeder of English Golden Retrievers. I was entranced by the striking beauty, health, and disposition of the English Golden. One of my friend’s dogs had a litter of puppies that included the prettiest and sweetest pup I had ever met. It was destiny for Sophie to become part of our family. Sophie has been such a delight that we decided to start Golden Gems NC so that we could provide families with the same amazing English Golden Retriever experience. We are expecting Sophie’s first litter at the end of November. Stay tuned because we have a hankering for some more fun… “Handsome Hank,” our future stud, will be joining our family soon.
